Most companies have come to the conclusion that the future is mobile… and there it went. Fortunately, it’s not too late. And the discussion on whether or not to pay attention to mobile is subjective. For those of us in the development community, there are still many big questions. Should I build a native or web app? Is it best use HTML5 or some other programming language? Unlike the great boxers-or-briefs debate, there is no wrong answer here. At least not yet.

Nokia N9’s Biggest Selling Point… Swipe.

I’ve long been a fan of Nokia phones but I’m still failing to get my head around this one. So, the N9 is a brand new phone that has a user interface that arguably looks like the original iPhone and runs the Meego operating system which Nokia ditched in favor of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, and pretty much given up on. And the phone’s key differentiator is the user’s ability to “swipe.” What happened, Nokia? 

Still, it’s not all bad. The phone itself looks very slick and attractive.

This is a very well-written comparison of iPad alternatives. There are many, but competitors still have a ways to go to catch up. One of the biggest gaps is in the quantity and quality of apps for tablets that do not bear the Apple logo.
